“We give
thanks to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you.”
Colossians 1:3 (NKJV)
In
the name of Him who makes us kings and priests to His God and Father, Messiah
Yeshua “Jesus,” greetings. Revelation
1:6 (NKJV)
And He Himself gave some to be
apostles, some prophets, some evangelist, and some pastors and teachers, for
the equipping of the saints for the
work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.
Ephesians 4:11-12 (NKJV)
What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the
words, history of the church? For me it
was what Jesus accomplished on the cross.
I was listening to the local “Christian” radio station when I heard the
history of the church explained using only names not mentioned in the [Bible]. It was the history of the speakers “church”
not God’s church, “the body of Christ.”
Eyewitnesses to the events leading up to and following
Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection, are recorded in the [Bible] for all to
see. After I read Ephesians 4:11-12 those
using [Scripture] alone “for the work of ministry,” are those in “the
body of Christ.”
“The work of ministry” is synonymous with [true]
followers of Jesus, “the body of Christ.” “The work of ministry” is an extension
of what has been clearly laid out for us, in the
[Scriptures]. In them we’ll find Jesus’ true
love for “the body of Christ”. Those
outside “the body of Christ” deserve the same from those of us who call
on Jesus’ name. That is our “work of ministry.”
God bless.
