“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in
Christ.” Ephesians 1:3 (NKJV)
In
the only name given among men by which we must be saved, Messiah Yeshua “Jesus,”
greetings. See Acts 4:12 (NKJV)
“He who believes and is baptized will be
saved; but he who does not believe will
be condemned.” Mark 16:16 (NKJV)
I was channel surfing when I came upon a conversation
between, a follower of the Anthanasian Creed and another caller who claimed one
must believe “and” be [water] “baptized” to be saved. I joined the program already in progress.
After a few minutes of going back and forth with this caller
the follower of the Anthanasian Creed said, “If your faith is in that water,
you’re not saved.” My first thought
after hearing it was, if your faith is in the Anthanasian Creed you’re not
saved. Their conversation ended, with
neither side giving in.
Who is he who overcomes the world,
but he who believes that Jesus is the
Son of God? 1 John 5:5 (NKJV)
Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him,
and he in God. 1 John 4:15 (NKJV)
There’s no [Biblical] evidence, even in Mark 16:16, that the
person that’s not “baptized” in [water] “will be condemned.” Similarly there is no [Biblical] evidence of having
to believe the Anthanasian Creed to be saved. There’s plenty of evidence in the [Bible], to
the contrary such as, “he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God will
be saved,” and “Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God
abides in him, and he in God.”
If you’re making it impossible for the person to be saved, having
confessed to being a sinner and now believing in Jesus Christ, just prior to
them taking their last breathe on earth, you’re not preaching the gospel of
Jesus Christ in truth.
God bless.
