Recently I heard “the trinity is rooted in the New Testament.” If you lead someone to believe the doctrine of the trinity, it’s rooted in the Anthanasian Creed. The Anthanasian Creeds having to believe [or else] “the Son is God” to be saved, the doctrine of the trinity in a nutshell, doesn’t align with Jesus’ teachings.
Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, ‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.’” John 20:17 (NKJV)
Nothing has caused more people to turn from this [on its own] absolute truth, that Jesus’ God and Father and His brethren’s God and Father are one and the same, than the Anthanasian Creed.
