As Recorded In The New Testament
“This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!” Matthew 17:5 (NKJV)
As I listened to the local “Christian” radio station I heard the speaker reading Matthew 17:5 aloud, and then saying, “Find out what Jesus said, as recorded in the New Testament, and listen to Him.” It doesn’t get any better than that, was my first thought after hearing it. My next thought was that followers of the Anthanasian Creed shouldn’t say [find out what Jesus said, as recorded in the New Testament], for they are known for lifting up “the Son is God.” The speaker’s “Find out what Jesus said, as recorded in the New Testament, and listen to Him,” is not heeded by the speaker them self.
“Find out what Jesus said, as recorded in the New Testament, and listen to Him,” agrees with what has been clearly laid out for us in the Bible. The Anthanasian Creeds “the Son is God,” is [deeply] embedded in the maze of man’s understanding of who Jesus is.
There’s no need to look for the words “the Son is God” in the Bible, they’re [simply] not there. By agreeing that they’re not in the Bible but claiming the evidence of it being so is, leaves it wide open as to who you “listen to.”
As one who loves Jesus, I have no desire to “listen to” follow the Anthanasian Creeds false method of salvation.
