There Is No Middle Ground Here

Long before “the Son is God” was chronicled in the Anthanasian Creed, John the Apostle being led by the Holy Spirit wrote: Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, ‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.’” John 20:17 (NKJV) There is no middle ground here, “the Son is God” is either a figment of someone’s imagination, or John the Apostle succumbed to falsehoods. Know what’s at stake. Jesus said “I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.” It would be safe to say that John the Apostle knew that Jesus’ God and Father and his God and Father, are one and the same.
