One Great Thing About The Bible
While listening to the local “Christian” radio station I heard, “There’s one great thing about the Bible, it doesn’t change.” I agree with the speaker on this point but not so on things I heard, within the same thirty minute radio program.
Who regards the biblical Jesus and the Anthanasian Creed’s “the Son is God” as being one and the same? Actually, it doesn’t matter because that’s not what the word of God teaches.
Near the end of the first century, John the Apostle being led by the Holy Spirit wrote: Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, ‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.’” John 20:17 (NKJV)
After reading John 20:17, would you say Jesus’s God and Father and your God and Father are one and the same? I would say yes, Jesus’s God and Father and my God and Father are one and the same. Not only because I’m able to see it for myself in John 20:17, but because I love and trust Jesus wholeheartedly.
If you believe the biblical Jesus and the Anthanasian Creed’s “the Son is God” are one and the same, can you answer me just this one simple question? Is Jesus really saying that He’s going to ascend to “My God” His God in John 20:17? Of course He is. “The Son is God” is the error here and it is plain to see.
God bless.
In His Care… Jim
