Being Led By The Spirit Of God

I heard, “When you come to church you should hear the word of God.” I have a hard time believing that people come to church with the hopes of hearing made-up stories of how one should live their life these days. They are more likely seeking to learn more about Jesus. Would you say an individual is going to church, for what could be the very first time in their life, expecting to hear truths about Jesus? I would. Biblically speaking, it’s the whole purpose for going to church. Concerning what one “should hear” in church, the question becomes, where does the speaker stand with Jesus? On the word of God, the Bible, or on made-up stories from times past? Near the end of the first century, John the Apostle, being led by the Holy Spirit wrote: Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, ‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.’” John 20:17 (NKJV) Here’s my question: After reading “I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God” in John 20:17, would you say Jesus’s God and Father and your God and Father are one and the same? I would, because Jesus said “I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God” in John 20:17. Would you say the Anthanasian Creed’s “the Son is God” and Jesus being the same, is made-up and upheld by those not mentioned in the Bible? If you’ve spent any time at all on this blog, you’d know exactly where I stand. Jesus is the Son of God, not God. God bless. In His Care… Jim
