How Then Can One believe?

Biblically speaking, Jesus’s ascension to His God and Father is meaningful. Consider the ramifications of having no recorded evidence of Jesus’s ascension. It would open the door for someone to make assumptions about Jesus’s fate. Since there is recorded evidence of Jesus actually saying, “I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God” (John 20:17 NKJV), how then can one believe that “the Son is God” and Jesus are the same?
