Consider where absolute truths concerning Jesus’s accomplishments in the first century are found. Wouldn’t that be as they are laid out for us in the Bible? Of course they would. You can’t have it both ways. You can’t say the Bible is trustworthy as is, and then allow for man’s understanding of Scripture to take precedence. It would be heretical doctrine if salvation hinges on the works of those not mentioned in the Bible.
