Effective Biblical Teachings

Is it correct to say that “the Son is God” and Jesus are the same? In John 20:17 (NKJV) where Jesus said, “I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.” This verse shatters the idea of them ever being the same. Jesus ascended to His God and Father, and believing this to be true, is to live by the truth. Teaching others that they are the same, however, is to cut them off from effective biblical teachings.
