The Encounter and the Message

The tomb is empty. Christ is risen indeed! He then encounters Mary Magdelene, and by all biblical accounts she is the first to see the resurrected Christ. This is a real encounter folks, and one of great importance to all followers of Christ Jesus. This particular encounter with Mary Magdalene is found in John 20:17 (NKJV) where Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, ‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.’” That is Jesus’s message, “I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.” Any claim to Jesus being God in the Bible will be proven to be false, because Jesus made it clear in John 20:17. Jesus knows that He’s about to ascend to His God and Father. When it comes to any claim to Jesus being God, there are only two choices. Trust what the Bible says, or man’s interpretation of what the Bible says. God bless. In His Care… Jim
