Scripture Alone Is Biblical
The Anthanasian Creed’s “the Son is God,” shouldn’t have made its way into this century. It’s followers however, bounce around saying things true about Jesus one minute then contradicting things He said in the Bible the next. I find people who identify themselves as “Catholics” and “Protestants” today, who believe “the Son is God,” doing this. They won’t see it that way, but in the course of time, giving the Bible the final say, they’ll hear/read the evidence of it being true. What they do with it, that’s between them and the all-knowing God of the Bible.
As I have mentioned previously on this blog, I’ve been following conversations between them on Facebook. I took part in many of them, covering a number of topics. My take away from them all is that saying Scripture alone is biblical, doesn’t fair well with the Catholics I engaged with. I couldn’t care any less about the traditions of men, the doctrines of men, or the lineage of church history. Scripture alone is biblical. Actually, the whole “Facebook” thing became such a distraction, that I cancelled my account entirely.
Nevertheless, the Anthanasian Creed is the problem. Whatever links the Anthanasian Creed’s “the Son is God” to Jesus is not gospel. It’s false doctrine.
God bless.
In His Care… Jim
