Grace, mercy, and truth will be
with you from God the Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the
Father, in truth and love. 2 John 3 (NKJV)
In
the precious and beautiful name of Messiah Yeshua “Jesus,” greetings.
While listening to the local “Christian” radio station I
heard, “You bring them to Jesus. How do
I bring them to Jesus? You bring them to
church.” The speaker on the radio is a
follower of the Anthanasian Creed.
“Whosoever will be saved, before
all things, it is necessary that he hold the catholic (i. e. , universal, (Christian) faith. Which
faith except every one do keep whole and undefiled without doubt he shall
perish everlastingly.” - First two
sentences of the Anthanasian Creed.
“This is the catholic (Christian) faith; which except you
believe faithfully and firmly,
you cannot be saved.” - Last sentence of the Anthanasian Creed.
What is this “catholic (universal, Christian) faith”? One would think it has something to do with
the [Bible] but, it has everything to do with the Anthanasian Creed. The follower of the Anthanasian Creed would say
the [Bible] supports the Anthanasian Creed.
This individual would not only be flat out wrong, they’d be forced to say
unless one “faithfully and firmly” believes the Anthanasian Creed one “cannot
be saved.”
When the follower of the Anthanasian Creed says “You bring
them to Jesus,” they’re not talking about the [Biblical] Jesus. They want to bring you to “the Son is God” instead. They’ll quote [Scriptures] (one after
another) but the Anthanasian Creeds idea of who Jesus should be, is what
they’re selling.
“For God so loved the world that He
gave His only begotten Son, that whoever
believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 (NKJV)
Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God,
God abides in him, and he in God. 1 John
4:15 (NKJV)
There’s no reason to believe God’s plan of salvation
supports the Anthanasian Creed. What
does the Anthanasian Creed have to offer the individual, after they’ve believed
and confessed “that Jesus is the Son of God”? It offers inclusion in the “universal, (Christian)
faith” but that is not salvation.
“Whoever believes in” Jesus, which is to say confess
“that Jesus is the Son of God,” is saved. This is God’s plan of salvation in a
nutshell, and all you need.
The Anthanasian Creed is a tool, and it forces people to
believe that the [Bible] and man’s understanding of the [Bible] are one and the
same, when obviously nothing could be further from the truth. How do I bring them to Jesus? I bring them to the [Bible].
God bless.
In His Care… Jim
