Concerning one’s salvation, you’ll know the difference between Biblical truths and falsehoods by what one has to believe to be saved. A Biblical truth will define salvation according to the Scriptures.
Pilate therefore said to Him, “Are You a King then?” Jesus answered, “You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears my voice.” Pilate said to Him, “What is truth?” And when he had said this, he went out again to the Jews, and said to them, I find no fault in Him at all.” John 18:37-38 (NKJV)
Whether you’re a born again believer in Christ Jesus or not, as it was with “Pilate” back then, you too could be 100% correct about Jesus. Pilate asked “Are You a King then?” Jesus answered, “You say rightly that I am a king.” This conversation between Jesus and Pilate (John 18:37-38), is recorded in the Bible. Anything said or written about Jesus today however, with the hopes of finding “no fault in” them “at all” [in the end], must agree with what has been clearly laid out for us in the Bible. The Bible is 100% trustworthy and variations to it are easily, detected.
In Luke 23:39-43 (NKJV) we read about two criminals that were crucified with Jesus: Then one of the criminals who were hanged blasphemed Him, saying, “If You are the Christ, save Yourself and us.” But the other, answering, rebuked him, saying, “Do you not even fear God, seeing you are under the same condemnation? And we indeed justly, for we receive the due reward of our deeds; but this Man has done nothing wrong.” Then he said to Jesus, “Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.” And Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you, today you shall be with Me in Paradise.”
This “criminal,” saying about Jesus, “But this Man has done nothing wrong” [confessed], took what he knew about himself and Jesus [at that time] and according to Jesus “today” is with Jesus “in Paradise.” The Anthanasian Creed in 325-AD, wrongly I might add, implied a method of salvation that can only be derived from man’s understanding of the Scriptures, and a falsehood was born.
I’ve come to know and believe that man’s understanding of the Scriptures are not trustworthy, and an example of not trustworthy when it comes to detecting falsehoods.
If you should decide to continue reading this blog, you’ll see why I believe the Anthanasian Creeds method of salvation is a false one.
God bless.
In His Care… Jim
