Gospel Preached

And when John had heard in prison about the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples and said to Him, “Are You the coming One,or do we look for another?” Jesus answered and said to them, “Go and tell John the things which you hear and see: The blind see and the lame walk; the lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear; the dead are raised up and the poor have the gospel preached to them. And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me.” Matthew 11:2—6 (NKJV) Having access to the Bible today, we can read all about the things which these two disciples of John heard and saw back then. When I find the words in the Bible “Jesus answered and said to them,” “Jesus said,” “Most assuredly, I say to you,” or “I am,” they establish Jesus as the speaker in the Bible, and I know it leads to the “gospel preached.” Take the words “Jesus said” and “I am” in John 20:17 (NKJV) for example. Here you’ll find the words, “I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.” I know this is “gospel peached” by Jesus “I am,” because Jesus said to her (Mary Magdalene), “Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, ‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God’” in John 20:17 (NKJV). In this verse “go to My brethren and say to them” shows that Jesus wanted His “brethren” to know the “gospel preached.” After hearing /reading Jesus’s “gospel preached” message meant for His “brethren” back then, as laid out for us in John 20:17, would you say Jesus’s God and Father and your God and Father are the same today? I would. There’s no reason to believe that Jesus is God, because the “gospel preached” by Jesus has Him ascending to His God, and Father. Imagine that, from just “Jesus said” and “I am” in John 20:17 “gospel preached,” can contradict “the Son is God.” It never should have made its way into this century. God bless. In His Care… Jim
