“Blessed be
the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant
mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus
Christ from the dead,” 1 Peter 1:3 (NKJV)
In
the precious and beautiful name of Messiah Yeshua “Jesus,” greetings.
Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and
the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts
himself above all that is called God or that is worshipped, so that he sits as
God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God. 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4
(NKJV)
Let’s get this out of the way from the get go. “That Day” in 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4,
is referring to the second coming of Messiah Yeshua “Jesus.” “The falling away comes first” has
absolutely nothing to do with rejecting the Anthanasian Creed. However
one chooses to separate themselves from the Anthanasian Creed, they’re not
rebelling against God’s plan of salvation by doing so.
While listening to the local “Christian” radio station I
heard, “If we knew our bible better we wouldn’t say these things.” The speaker on the radio gave the names of
five people that have [wrongly] predicted the time of Jesus’ second coming,
which led him to say “If we knew our bible better we wouldn’t say these things.”
According to the speaker on the radio, in reference to 2
Thessalonians 2:3-4, “Many will fall away and hate each other. These call themselves [Christians] but they’re
not believers in Jesus. This is the
great apostasy.” The speaker then went
on to say, “In many churches across the country the word of God is not
preached.” The speaker is a follower of
the Anthanasian Creed.
There’s a good explanation as to why those attending one “church,”
accuse other “churches” of not preaching the word of God. God knows [exactly] how long this has been
going on for, but it’ll be safe to say since Jesus’ death, burial and
resurrection.
It begins with two people attending
the same “church,” having different interpretations of what the [Bible] says
about the exact same thing. Eventually disparaging
words are being said by those who were once friends, in some cases by members
of the same family because they’ve chosen to take different sides. [Biblical] truths get lost in the
shuffle. If this division festers, it
causes a church to split along the lines of the different interpretations.
There are many [different] denominational
“churches” to choose from these days, each believing they are preaching the word
of God. I’d say it’s time to stop
trusting in man’s understanding of the [Scriptures]. The word of God is sufficient enough,
as is.
I get people having their differences but let’s not lose
sight of what really matters, the second coming of Messiah Yeshua “Jesus.” We can have our differences when it comes to
earthly matters, like what to wear, what to eat, or opposing political views
just to name a few. If it’s not
preparing us for Jesus’ return, don’t give it a second thought.
This is My commandment, that you love
one another as I have loved you.” John 15:12 (NKJV)
Predicting the time of Jesus’ second coming and not loving others
as Jesus loved us (John 15:12), if we knew the [Biblical] Jesus better we
wouldn’t [do] these things.
God bless.
In His Care… Jim
