“We give
thanks to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you.”
Colossians 1:3 (NKJV)
In
the precious and beautiful name of Messiah Yeshua “Jesus,” greetings.
“So then faith comes by hearing,
and hearing by the word of God.” Romans 10:17 (NKJV)
While listening to the local “Christian” radio station I
heard, “How can we find in the word of God how to have great faith?” The speaker on the radio was referring to,
Romans 10:17.
The speaker gave a number of ways, found in the word
of God, to have great faith. He summed
them up by saying, “Don’t trust in ourselves and lean on our own
understanding.” I would suggest that people,
like the speaker, do lean on their own understanding of the
[Scriptures]. The speaker is a follower
of the Anthanasian Creed.
I would teach, having rejected the Anthanasian Creed, the
[Bible] is more than sufficient enough as is, and would say, “We can’t lean on
our own understanding of the [Scriptures] in any situation.”
What then? Only that in every way,
whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is preached; and in this I rejoice,
yes, and will rejoice. Philippians 1:18 (NKJV)
Nevertheless, I “will rejoice” each and every time a
follower of the Anthanasian Creed or anyone else for that matter, quotes
[Scripture]. Paul, the writer of Romans
10:17, also gave us Philippians 1:18. I do
pray people will realize the difference between [Biblical] truths and man’s
understanding of them. Don’t confuse
[Biblical] truths, for the writings of those not mentioned in the
[Bible]. [Biblical] truths can only
be found in the word of God, the [Bible].
[Biblical] truths endure forever.
When it comes to the Anthanasian Creeds having to believe
[or else] “the Son is God” to
be saved “method” of salvation, there’s nothing truthful about it. People can choose to believe, by faith, the
Anthanasian Creed is [Biblically] sound but just like one calling another a
“Christian,” it doesn’t make it so.
There’s no reason to believe the Anthanasian Creed for anything, let
alone the only way to salvation.
Trust in the Lord with all your
heart, and lean not on your own
understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct
your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV)
Romans 10:17 is plain, simple, and easy to understand. Whatever it is you’ve chosen to listen to,
make sure it’s coming straight from the word of God. If you’re not sure, treat it as hearsay at
best until you subject it to the word of God and determine that it is fully
supported by Scripture alone.
The word of God is more than sufficient enough, as is. “Lean not on your own understanding.”
God bless.
In His Care… Jim
