“That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of
glory, may give you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of
Him.” Ephesians 1:17 (NKJV)
In the name of Him who shall stand and feed His flock in
the strength of the Lord, in the majesty of the name of
the Lord His God, Messiah Yeshua “Jesus,” greetings. See Micah 5:2-5 (NKJV)
While listening to the local “Christian”
radio station I heard, concerning the transfiguration captured in Mark 9:1-12,
Matthew 16:28-17:13 and Luke 9:27-36, “If I say something that is not in any
passage then we have a greater problem.”
The speaker on the radio made it crystal clear, that he, “might say
something that is not in Mark 9:1-12 but if you check it later you’ll see it’s
taken from Matthew or Luke.” The speaker
referred to the transfiguration [event] as a whole, found in these three
passages, saying, “God was making it possible for Peter and John to get a taste
of what was to come. Jesus is God, the
man who is God.” The speaker is a
follower of the Anthanasian Creed.
The thirty minute program ended with a
different person, a spokesperson if you will, saying, “We can’t understand the
trinity but we trust God to show us, this is where faith comes in.” Both the speaker and the spokesperson were [obviously]
influenced by the Anthanasian Creed.
Let’s cut to the chase, “we have a greater
problem” here. The speaker gives us
three things not found in Mark 9:1-12, Matthew 16:28-17:13 or Luke
9:27-36.
“God was making it
possible for Peter and John to get a taste of what was to come.”
“Jesus is God.”
“The man who is God.”
Instead of saying “this is where faith
comes in,” the spokesperson should have said this is where the Anthanasian
Creed comes in. The doctrine of the
trinity wouldn’t exist at all, if not for the Anthanasian Creed. The Anthanasian Creed wouldn’t exist at all,
if not for the writings of those not mentioned in the [Bible].
Trying to link the
trinity to [Biblical] truths when those same [Biblical] truths prove the
Anthanasian Creed to be false doctrine, leaves followers of the Anthanasian
Creed looking only to like-minded people, for all the answers. No matter which direction they take their
answer, you’re left with “We can’t understand the trinity.”
The Anthanasian
Creed trivializes the transfiguration [event] as a whole.
If you’re a follower of the Anthanasian
Creed, which is to say you agree with the speaker, the spokesperson and the
trinity, be prepared to answer questions concerning Mark 9:1-12, Matthew 16:28-17:13
and Luke 9:27-36 using just the [Bible].
Hopefully your answer doesn’t include “we can’t understand the trinity.” Certainly not if as the Anthanasian Creed
says, your salvation depends on it.
If you’re confessing Jesus is the Son of
God, the Lord and the Savior of your life, saved according to the [Scriptures],
I’ll treat you as a believer of Messiah Yeshua “Jesus,” because the Anthanasian
Creed has absolutely nothing to do with the salvation of one’s soul. I’m confident that being on the right side of
God’s plan of salvation, is to reject the Anthanasian Creed altogether.
God bless.
In His Care… Jim
