They're Using It In The Wrong Way

In Acts 1:9—11 (NKJV) Luke writes about Jesus’s ascension into heaven, saying, “Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.” Jesus not only ascended “He was taken up” to His God and Father, He “will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.” He’s coming again. We know these things to be true because the Bible tells us so. If someone were to tell me that the Bible supports the Anthanasian Creed’s “the Son is God,” I’d have them show me where it is in the Bible. They’d know soon enough that it doesn’t support “the Son is God” at all, because they’d have nothing to draw from but the tale of the Anthanasian Creed itself. When lifting up “the Son is God” they mention Jesus’s name, but they’re using it in the wrong way. I can’t say that I’ve heard it all from those lifting up “the Son is God,” because I’ve learned that something new awaits around the next corner. Regardless, I know the Anthanasian Creed shouldn’t have made its way into this century. God bless. In His Care… Jim
