In
the name of He saying “More than that, blessed are those who hear the word of
God and keep it,” Messiah Yeshua “Jesus,” greetings. See Luke 11:24-28 (NKJV)
While listening to the local “Christian” radio station a
follower of the Anthanasian Creed said, “What’s the result when God’s word is
taught?”
The same day the Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection, came to Him
and asked Him, saying, “Teacher, Moses said that if a man dies, having no
children, his brother shall marry his wife and raise up offspring for his
brother. Now there were with us seven brothers. The first died after he had
married, and having no offspring, left his wife to his brother. Likewise the
second also, and the third, even to the seventh. Last of all the woman died
also. Therefore, in the resurrection,
whose wife of the seven will she be? For they all had her.”
Jesus answered and said to them, “You
are mistaken, not knowing the
Scriptures nor the power of God. For in the resurrection they neither
marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels of God in heaven. But
concerning the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was spoken to you by God, saying, ‘I am the God of
Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? God is not the God of
the dead, but of the living.”
And when the multitudes heard this,
they were astonished at His teaching. Matthew 22:23-33 (NKJV)
“The Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection,” were
“mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures nor the power of God.” Simply put, they were wrong. For them to say “Therefore, in the
resurrection,” while believing “there is no resurrection,” is inconsistent
at best.
I have a hard time believing that these same “Sadducees,”
religious leaders, haven’t “read what was spoken to you by God, saying, ‘I
am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.’” Those who “were astonished at” Jesus’
“teaching,” left there realizing the “Sadducees” were looking out
for their own best interest.
Let’s fast forward to the twenty first century where some
accept, unless one believes the doctrine of the trinity one cannot be saved.
“For God so loved the world that He
gave His only begotten Son, that whoever
believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 (NKJV)
Imagine a message beginning with the reading of John 3:16, and
ending with unless one believes the doctrine of the trinity one cannot be
saved. This shouldn’t ever happen. The second half of this contradicts the first
half and has nothing to do with what Jesus accomplished in the first
century.
John 3:16 is clear. “Whoever
believes in” Jesus, which is to say [believe in] accept what Jesus
accomplished in the first century, will be saved. Those [believing in] accepting the
Anthanasian Creed that was birthed well after the last entry of the New Testament,
are being influenced by false teachers.
It doesn’t matter where, when or how, the Anthanasian Creed is lifted
up, it will always turn people away from [Biblical] truths to false teachings.
Just as Jesus proved “the Sadducees” wrong in the
first century, His teachings, as laid out for us in the [Bible], prove the
Anthanasian Creed to be wrong. The
teachings of Jesus Christ, and His crucifixion don’t support the Anthanasian
Creed.
Would you say the person confessing Jesus is the Son of God, the Lord and
the Savior of their life, saved according to the [Scriptures], and rejects the
Anthanasian Creed altogether, is saved?
As one who loves Jesus, and one who has [actually] witnessed
followers of the Anthanasian Creed retreat from this question, I say “the
person” is saved. It is
impossible to prove otherwise.
“What’s the result when God’s word is taught?” People are led to Jesus. To know Him and hopefully to accept Him and
be saved. What Jesus accomplished in the
first century, His teachings and His crucifixion, won’t be mistaken for man’s
understanding of the [Scriptures], found in the Anthanasian Creed.
It is important to see that the Anthanasian Creed adds onto
what Jesus accomplished in the first century, to avoid being persuaded to
believe its false teaching.
Could the follower of the
Anthanasian Creed be saved? “Yes,” if
they [believe in] accept what Jesus accomplished in the first century, they are
saved according to the [Scriptures].
For the follower of the Anthanasian Creed to say the
Anthanasian Creed is sound doctrine, while believing in Jesus’ teachings and in
His crucifixion, is a sad state.
