From One Believer To Another

From One Believer to Another

If this is your first time visiting this blog, “Welcome!”

As you read, I pray you’ll not see me as being angry at anyone. Firm at times with some, I’ll agree with that. I know that no matter what a person has gone through, things they’ve said or done, or still doing for that matter, there’s a 50/50 chance of my having sought forgiveness for doing the exact same thing at one time or another. I know the battle is not against flesh and blood my friend.

Throughout this blog you will find me quoting things heard on the radio. You’ll not find the names of those who said these things in the posts. I do document their names, the date, time, and radio station call sign on my copy of the original document. I do not publish these details because our mission should be to expose the false teachings not to personally attack the person.

If you should continue reading my friend, you will find the Anthanasian Creed being exposed for what it is, a false doctrine. The word of God having the final say. My trusting in He who knows hears and sees all things, the God of the [Bible].

Why the Anthanasian Creed?

In the precious and beautiful name of Messiah Yeshua “Jesus,” greetings.

It’s no secret, I listen to a lot of “Christian” programs on the radio.  What you’re about to read caught me totally by surprise, but hearing it more often on the radio is my prayer.  Strangely enough, it came from one believing “the Son is God”.

I’m not sure if the person that said it is a pastor of a church or not.  A teacher for sure, he’s obviously speaking to a live audience.  How great his audience is, number of people, I have no idea.  Him speaking before a live audience is the significant thing here. I’m going to call him, teacher.  Which leads me to what it was that caught me by surprise.

“Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.” 1 John 3:9 (NKJV)

The teacher used this verse of [Scripture] in his message.

“Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God. Do you know what that means?  I’ll tell you what it means.  It means exactly what it says.” This caught me by surprise.

There was no mentioning of “in the Greek this word means.  No reference of a “Trinity” after this teacher quoted 1 John 3:9.  Instead it was the Teacher saying “It means exactly what is says”.  According to this teacher, 1 John 3:9 is good to go just the way it is.

I couldn’t believe it.  This teacher teaches, “The Son is God,” “The Son is God” which was birthed in the fourth century, 325-AD.  The last entry of the New Testament took place in the first century.  Therefore the Anthanasian Creeds “the Son is God” is based on hearsay, well after the fact.

Followers of that creed [totally] depend upon man’s interpretations of the [Scriptures], which have come…after the fact.  Those wrong interpretations are the only things keeping the Anthanasian Creed alive.  I wonder, out of all those teaching “the Son is God,” is [this] particular teacher the only one capable of determining which verses of [Scripture] are, and those that are not, good to go just the way they are?

The answer doesn’t matter my friends.  What matters is who gave [this] teacher the authority to take specific verses of [Scripture], evidence showing how it’s [Biblically] impossible for the Son of God to be “the Son is God,” and making them say/mean anything else but?  Specifically how they can teach verses as evidence for the Son of God to be “the Son is God”.

Just a few examples, from Apostles Saul (who is also called Paul) Peter and John:

“that you may with one mind and with one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Romans 15:6 (NKJV)

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort,” 2 Corinthians 1:3 (NKJV)

The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is blessed forever, knows that I am not lying.” 2 Corinthians 11:31 (NKJV)

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ.” Ephesians 1:3 (NKJV)

“That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him,” Ephesians 1:17 (NKJV)

“We give thanks to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,” Colossians 1:3 (NKJV)

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,” 1 Peter 1:3 (NKJV)

Apostle John was speaking of the [Biblical] Yeshua when wrote: “and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.”  Revelation 1:6 (NKJV)

Don’t forget my friends, this teacher’s entire system of belief is based on false teachings.  Teachings that support a false doctrine, the Anthanasian Creed.  According to the Anthanasian Creeds method of salvation, a person “cannot be saved” unless they “faithfully” believe “the Son is God”.  Make no mistake about it, it means exactly what it says and there’s no [Biblical] evidence of it being so.  Need I say more?

God bless.

Keep Your Eyes on the Prize

“That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him,” Ephesians 1:17 (NKJV)

If this is your first time visiting this blog, “Welcome!”

In the precious and beautiful name of Messiah Yeshua “Jesus,” greetings.

You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:14-16 (NKJV)

Those believing “the Son is God,” this is coming from a pastor that believes the same.  While listening to the local “Christian” radio station I heard this pastor say, “You are the light of the world.  Someone is following us and we don’t want to lead them in the wrong direction.”  He was teaching its “Christians” that are to preach the gospel, good news, no matter where they are.

As a firm believer [in] Messiah Yeshua, knowing who to follow isn’t an issue.  I need not look any further than the inspired word of God, the [Bible].

Then He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” They immediately left their nets and followed Him.” Matthew 4:19-20 (NKJV)

And Jesus passed on from there, and saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax office. And He said to him, “Follow Me.” So he arose and followed Him.  Matthew 9:9 (NKJV)

When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them, “Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.”  Mark 8:34 (NKJV)

Now it happened as they journeyed on the road, that someone said to Him, “Lord, I will follow You wherever You go.” And Jesus said to him, “Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nest, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head.” Then He said to another, “Follow Me.” But he said, “Lord, let me first go and bury my father.” Jesus said to him, “Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and preach the kingdom of God.” And another also said, “Lord, I will follow You, but let me first go and bid them farewell who are at my house.” But Jesus said to him, “No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.” Luke 9:57-62 (NKJV)

Just as sure as I am with following the [Biblical] Yeshua being the [Biblically] correct thing to do, not being concerned about what people may think is as well.

“Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ.” 1 Corinthians 11:1 (NKJV)

Apostle Saul (who is also called Paul) made it perfectly clear in 1 Corinthians 11:1.  Just as he imitated Christ, we’re to imitate Christ, too.

We’re not to be concerned with who’s watching [us] my friends.  Follow the [Biblical] Yeshua.  When you’re following “imitating” the [Biblical] Yeshua, the God of the [Bible] takes care of the rest.  We’re not responsible for what a person does, or does not do, with that which God has placed in our care.  Knowing the kingdom of God is the prize, followers of the [Biblical] Yeshua look forward to what’s next.  Simply put God’s increase is attached to everything Yeshua said, and did.  Follow Yeshua.

“Someone is following us and we don’t want to lead them in the wrong direction.”

Talk about not seeing the forest for the trees, this pastor is a follower of the Anthanasian Creed.  He obviously doesn’t see himself as one teaching falsehoods.

Does anyone [really] believe the [only] way for a person to be saved is believing “the Son is God”?  Make no mistake about it, those believing “the Son is God” can’t teach anything else but.  Based on my experiences with them, followers of the Anthanasian Creed weren’t even aware of it being part of the package deal they bought into.  Nevertheless, the person teaching “the Son is God” must also teach believing it the [only] way for a person to be saved.

Needless to say, this method of salvation cannot be in the same conversation with that which is found in the [Bible].  It can, but they’ll not agree.  There’s no [Biblical] evidence of there ever being “the Son is God”.  Its man’s interpretation of [Scriptures], wrongly I might add, causing people to believe it does.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not mad at this pastor, nor those believing the same has he, it’s these things they’re saying.  Better yet the [thing] that’s causing them to say these things, the Anthanasian Creed.  It, and everything attached to it, has been leading people in the wrong direction for the past sixteen hundred plus years.

God bless.

While continuing to look forward to that which is next, I give thanks to God.  Giving all the praise to that same God, Yeshua’s God and Father.

One Way

“that you may with one mind and with one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Apostle Saul (who is also called Paul), Romans 15:6 (NKJV)

In the precious and beautiful name of Messiah Yeshua “Jesus,” greetings.

And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelist, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, Ephesians 4:11-12 (NKJV)

Followers of the Anthanasian Creed, those believing “the Son is God,” this is coming from one believing the same.  While listening to the local “Christian” radio station I heard this coming from a pastor.  He had just quoted Ephesians 4:11-12 and then followed it by saying “You need a consistent theology.  People hop around from one church to another on a weekly basis.”  My friends, do you not see the problem here?  I can safely say the problem is not these people “hopping” around from one “church” to another.

He was trying to show how difficult it is to learn sound theology, if you’re not hearing consistent teachings.  He didn’t say this, but he implied not every “church” is teaching the same theology.  Better yet, they are not teaching the same theology he is.

The first question that came to my mind is, who’s determining that which edifies the body of Christ?  Who’s going to make that call?  Certainly if it agrees with Yeshua’s teachings, it’ll be [good] to go.

Those believing “the Son is God,” do you not see the problem with “You need a consistent theology.  People hop around from one church to another on a weekly basis” following Ephesians 4:11-12?  I’ll give a Hint:

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ.” Ephesians 1:3 (NKJV)

“That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him,” Ephesians 1:17 (NKJV)

There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. Ephesians 4:4-6 (NKJV)

The problem is with the Anthanasian Creed.  As you’ve just read, Saul’s letter to the Ephesians [clearly] establishes that which [should] be consistently taught by those having been called to be apostles, prophets, evangelist, pastors and teachers.  If they’re saying/teaching the same thing, those “hopping” around from “church” to “church” wouldn’t be an issue.

It wouldn’t matter what day of the week it is, hour of the day, or building one should find themselves in when the [Biblical] Yeshua is preached, people will be hearing the same thing.  I can safely say it’ll be the Spirit of God, not man, behind it all.

I know that when it comes to preaching the [Biblical] Yeshua, it’ll be truths concerning Him setting people free.  The truth is, the God of the [Bible] is Yeshua’s God and Father.  There is one body, one Spirit, one hope, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and one God and Father of all.

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ”

“That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ”

“There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all”

Saul’s letter to the Ephesians, it’s a beautiful thing.  Plain.  Simple.  Easy to read.  Enduring forever.

Followers of the Anthanasian Creed, those believing “the Son is God,” do you not see that it’s [Biblically] impossible for the Anthanasian Creeds “the Son is God” to agree with Saul’s letter to the Ephesians?  Please, don’t think for one second I’m angry, I’m not.

I know there’s no [Biblical] evidence of the Son of God being “the Son is God,” God.  If you continue to believe there is, please, don’t use Saul’s letter to the Ephesians in your teachings.  There’ll be a 0% chance of it agreeing with anything you’ll have to say.

God bless.

Choices, We All Have To Make Them

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort,” 2 Corinthians 1:3 (NKJV)

In the precious and beautiful name of Messiah Yeshua “Jesus,” greetings.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:1 (NKJV)

Then Jesus said to them, “When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am He, and that I do nothing of Myself; but as My Father taught Me, I speak these things.” John 8:28 (NKJV)

Followers of the Anthanasian Creed, those believing “the Son is God,” would you agree with me in saying John 8:28 [clearly] establishes Jesus being taught “these things” He spoke?  That it was Jesus’ Father teaching Jesus “these things” that He spoke?  It doesn’t matter if you agree or not, it is written, Jesus’ Father taught Jesus “these things” He spoke.  Unlike “the Son is God,” the words found in John 8:28 are in the [Bible].

Any teaching found to be in agreement with Jesus’, will have everything to do with the Spirit of God.  Those believing “the Son is God,” would you agree with me in saying John 8:28 begins with “then Jesus said to them” and this is in agreement?

Let’s say you agree with all these [Biblical] things I have presented.  “The Son is God” is not [Biblical].  How [is] it that you agree with those teaching Jesus is “Word” God in John 1:1?  The God of the [Bible] knows hears and sees all things.  There’ll never be a time when He doesn’t.  Therefore, because He had to be taught “these things” He spoke, Jesus cannot be “In the beginning…Word,” God, in John 1:1.

If you’re set on believing Jesus is “Word” God in John 1:1, what’s causing you to ignore the [Biblical] fact of Jesus having to be taught “these things” He spoke?  Are you relying on what is found in the inspired word of God, or on hearsay; derived after the fact?

“Now when all things are made subject to Him, then the Son Himself will also be subject to Him who put all things under Him, that God may be all in all.” 1 Corinthians 15:28 (NKJV)

Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to Me, for I have not Yet ascended to My Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, ‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.’” John 20:17 (NKJV)

Those believing “the Son is God,” would you agree with me in saying the “Son Himself” in 1 Corinthians 15:28 is referring to Jesus?  That “the Son Himself” Jesus will [“also”] be subject to God?  That in John 20:17 Jesus [clearly] establishes His God and Father and His brethren’s God and Father is one and, the same?  If not, what’s causing you to ignore the [Biblical] evidence of it being so?

If we should ever meet, these are questions you’ll have to answer.  To ignore them is your choice. That’ll be between you, and Jesus’ God and Father.  The God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob.  The God of the [Bible].

God bless.

Who is Worthy to Open the Scroll?

(Speaking of Yeshua) “and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.” Revelation 1:6 (NKJV)

If this is your first time visiting this blog, “Welcome!”

In the precious and beautiful name of Messiah Yeshua “Jesus,” greetings.

The Hebrew [Scriptures], the “Old Testament,” is full of prophecies concerning the coming Messiah.  From the announcement of His birth place in Micah 5:2, which just so happened to be Bethlehem, to His death on a cross, Messiah has been made known to us.

In John 1:29, which is found in the New Testament, its John the Dunker “Baptist” clearing the air as to who these prophecies were speaking of.  When John saw the [Biblical] Yeshua coming towards him, he said this of Him, “Behold! The Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world!”

The Lamb of God, according to the word of God, is the Son of God.

How anyone could mistake the [Biblical] Yeshua for anyone else but the Son of God is beyond comprehension.  With that said, mistakes have been made.

In one system of belief the Son of God becomes “the Son is God”.  In another He is just one of the prophets.  Neither of which have any [Biblical] evidence supporting them.  Not that Yeshua isn’t a prophet, He is, and He’s not just any prophet.  Lest we forget, Messiah Yeshua is the Son of God.

The person teaching the [Biblical] Yeshua is “the Son is God,” while at the same time ignoring His teachings, has fallen for the oldest trick in the book.  They’ve chosen to believe what someone else [thinks] the word of God said.

The person seeing the [Biblical] Yeshua as [just] a prophet, while at the same time ignoring His teachings, has set themselves up to believe anything.  This would certainly include believing what someone else [thinks] the word of God said.

Peoples of the world, don’t be fooled.  There’s a lot of [crazy] “stuff’ going on these days in the name of “religion”.  People believe there are three major “religions,” Hebrew, Muslim and Christianity.  However the Hebrew speaking Nation, the Jewish Community, isn’t a religion.  It is a Community of People chosen by God.  Gentiles, non-Jewish, are grafted into this Community.  According to the [Scriptures] of course.

Which leads me to the reason for this post.

Let’s look at one event in the [Bible] that has yet to be fulfilled, not that there aren’t more, Messiah Yeshua’s second coming for one.  This particular one shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone, either.  It too is made known to us in the [Bible].

And I saw in the right hand of Him who sat on the throne a scroll written inside and on the back, sealed with seven seals.  Then I saw an angel proclaiming with a load voice, “Who is worthy to open the scroll and to loose its seal?”  And no one in heaven or on the earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll, or to look at it.  Revelation 5:1-3 (NKJV)

Who [is] worthy to open the scroll?  I ask, not because I don’t know, but because there are some that actually believe it isn’t the [Biblical] Yeshua.  These are the same ones saying Yeshua is [just] a prophet (Muslims).  I wonder what kind of prophet they think He is.  Then there are those saying it is Yeshua, but they are the ones teaching another plan of salvation.  One not found in the [Bible].  These are the followers of the Anthanasian Creed.

Unless a person believes someone performed a great “Houdini” act here, switching the one that died on a cross for the sin of the world with another, the only one taking the scroll from Him that sits on the throne will be the [Biblical] Yeshua.

There’s no need to alter the [Biblical] account of who Messiah Yeshua is.  He’s the Son of God.  Believing He’s the Son of God is the [Biblically] correct thing to do.  I can safely say believing Yeshua [is] the Son of God will have everything to do with the salvation of one’s soul.  There’s no reason to doubt Him being the Lamb that takes away the sin of the world.  Thus making Him the only one worthy to take the scroll.  The all-knowing God of the [Bible] has everything under control.  God’s plan of redemption and salvation is at work here.

The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, glorified His Servant Jesus, whom you delivered up and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he determined to let Him go… For Moses truly said to the fathers, ‘The Lord your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your brethren. Him you shall hear in all things, whatever He says to you. And it shall be that every soul who will not hear that Prophet shall be utterly destroyed from among the people.’ Acts 3:13-23 (NKJV)

The [Scriptures] are clear.  The [Biblical] account of Yeshua is trustworthy.  Unless a person believes the God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob, the one that glorified His Servant Jesus, raised up a “Prophet” like Moses, isn’t the God of the [Bible].

So I wept much, because no one was found worthy to open and read the scroll, or to look at it. But one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals.” And I looked, and behold, in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as though it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent out into all the earth.  Then He came and took the scroll out of the right hand of Him who sat on the throne.  Revelation 5:4-7 (NKJV)

The Lion of the tribe of Judah, the root of David, and the Lamb mentioned in Revelation 5:4-7, is the Son of God.  The [Biblical] Yeshua.

A person can call/make the [Biblical] Yeshua whatever they want, if it doesn’t agree with the word of God it will be exposed for what it is, manmade.  Not inspired.  Perishing.

Therefore the person asking me who’s worthy to take the scroll from Him who sits on the throne will get nothing but the [Biblically] correct answer, the [Biblical] Yeshua “Jesus”.

God bless.

Thomas Had To See To Believe, What Must You Do?

“that you may with one mind and with one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Apostle Saul (who is also called Paul), Romans 15:6 (NKJV)

In the precious and beautiful name of Messiah Yeshua “Jesus,” greetings.

Who actually died on the cross for the sin of the world?  We’re going to take a look at Thomas’ use of the words “My Lord and my God” found in John 20:28 (NKJV).

Then He said to Thomas, “Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side. Do not be unbelieving.” And Thomas answered and said to Him, “My Lord and my God!” Jesus said to him, “Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed.  Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.  John 20:27-31 (NKJV)

Before we look into Thomas’ use of the words “My Lord and my God,” let’s see why Yeshua spoke these things to Thomas to begin with.  The [Biblical] explanation behind it all.  The red letter words above are Yeshua’s.  One more thing, the words “that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God,” it’s very important we leave them just the way they are.  Believing Messiah Yeshua “Christ” is the Son of God that is.

John 20:25: Now Thomas, called the Twin, one of the twelve, was not with them when Jesus came. The other disciples therefore said to him, “We have seen the Lord.” So he said to them, “Unless I see in His hands the prints of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe.”

The time passed between John 20:25 and 20:27-31, is eight days (John 20:26).

Thomas must have witnessed Yeshua’s death on the cross.  There’s no reason to believe otherwise.  If he’s needing to see actual evidence of Yeshua’s [crucifixion] death on the cross to believe, he knew exactly what to look for if Yeshua happened to make [another] appearance.  Obviously Thomas didn’t miss Yeshua this other time, and he believed.

The followers of the Anthanasian Creed, justify that Thomas believes the Son is God when he said “My Lord and my God.”  Their response is typically, if not, “Why didn’t Jesus rebuke Thomas after saying it?” This is their reason for them to believe the [Bible] supports “the Son is God”.  So they think.  The fact of the matter is, Yeshua agreed with Thomas.  Since it’s the [Bible] telling us Thomas is one that [now] believes because he said “My Lord and my God,” let’s not jump to any conclusions as to what it is he’s actually confessing to here.

I can safely the [Bible] doesn’t give us Thomas’ reason(s) for saying these words.  It also doesn’t give the freedom to make them say/mean whatever we wish, either.  When it comes to the word of God, the [Bible], and with whatever is said about it, looking to be [Biblically] correct, it will agree.

Lest we forget, Yeshua’s earthly ministry lasting three and a half years.  There’s a good chance of Thomas hearing something directly from Yeshua during the three plus years he walked with Him.  Something causing Thomas to say “My Lord and my God”.  I have a hard time believing Thomas’ first encounter with Yeshua came the moment he said “My Lord and my God” found in John 20:28.

I actually heard a pastor say Thomas’ words are “all a person needs to know”.  I heard this just a few weeks ago.  This pastor is a follower of the Anthanasian Creed.  That’s it, according to this pastor, Thomas’ “My Lord and my God” settles the matter.  As far as this pastor is concerned, for those looking for [Biblical] evidence of the Son of God being “the Son is God,” God, they need look no further than John 20:28.
  • If that were the case, if one verse of [Scripture] is all that’s needed to establish one’s system of belief why are the followers of the Anthanasian Creed tampering with other verses of [Scripture] to meet their needs?  Wouldn’t that one verse be “all a person needs to know”?  Since we’re talking about a verse of [Scripture] here, wouldn’t it agree with the word of God in its entirety?  Of course it would.
There’s no [Biblical] evidence of the Son of God being “the Son is God”.  There’s no [Biblical] evidence of there ever being, or yet to come, “the Son is God”.  Being in agreement with [Scripture] that is.  It obviously came in 325-AD.  It’s found in the Anthanasian Creed.

The Anthanasian Creed is the blue print to this manmade system of belief.  Man’s interpretation of [Scripture], wrongly I might add, is its only support system.  Other than the [Bible] warning us of false doctrines, there’s no other link to it.  The mere mentioning of things found in the [Bible] doesn’t necessarily make everything attached to them [Biblically] sound.

Thomas had a very good reason for saying “My Lord and My God”.  Unlike the majority of those encounters Yeshua had with religious leaders, He was obviously in agreement with that which Thomas had to say.  Which clearly establishes it having everything to do with something Yeshua previously said.  I have serious doubts as to Thomas coming up with “My Lord and my God” from out of the blue.  Unless a person believes Thomas pulled these words out from the proverbial “rabbits hat,” “My Lord and my God” is linked to something Thomas previously learned from Yeshua.

Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works.” John 14:10 (NKJV)
  • The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority
  • the Father who dwells in Me does the works
Thomas could have [finally] figured it out.  Better yet it being revealed to him by God.  Standing there, looking straight at “my Lord” Yeshua, and [now] believing that it’s not only He that died on the cross standing right in front of him, but the one dwelling in Yeshua is “my God” his God, too.  With Yeshua knowing these things, there’d be no need for Him to rebuke Thomas.  I’m well aware of the [Bible] not giving us the reason(s) why Thomas said “My Lord and my God” in John 20:28.  Nor does it elaborate on what Thomas meant by it.  I say this as we can only infer the meaning and our inference needs to be based on consistency throughout the Bible.  Inferring that the Son is God here is a viable alternative, until you try to support it consistently throughout scripture at which point it fails.

Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, ‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.’” John 20:17 (NKJV)

The [Bible] may not tell us why Thomas said “My Lord and my God,” but in the same book, same chapter twenty of John, it certainly tells us Yeshua called the God of the [Bible] “My God” His God, too.  He says it four more times in Revelation 3:12.  As you’ll see in just a little bit, twice more in Matthew 27:46.  We have Yeshua saying these words seven times, Thomas once…just a thought.

The question isn’t why didn’t Jesus rebuke Thomas, it’s was Thomas present when Mary Magdalene delivered the message given to her by Yeshua found in John 20:17?  Better yet, if Thomas wasn’t present when she delivered it to Yeshua’s brethren, did Thomas believe his fellow brethren when they told him, if they had to tell him, exactly what Mary Magdalene had to say to them?

And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a load voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” That is “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” Matthew 27:46 (NKJV)

Who actually died on the cross for the sin of the world?  Knowing the word of God endures forever, it had to be the Son of God.  The [Biblical] Yeshua.  Not God.

Lest we forget, there’s some that like to slip the word [is] in-between “Son” and “God”.  Keep a close eye on what you’re reading my friends.  Believing Messiah Yeshua “Christ” is the Son of God is very important to the salvation of one’s soul.

When it comes to the [Biblical] Yeshua’s death burial and resurrection, there’ll not be another like it.  When He said “It is finished!” on that cross (John 19:30), you better count on it being so.  It’s speaking of God’s plan of redemption and salvation for all peoples of the world.  Simply put it’s a done deal, all we have to do, individually, is to believe it.

As for Thomas’ “My Lord and my God,” I see it as the starting point of a great conversation to be had at the local coffee house.  With or without likeminded people as myself.  Teaching it the [Biblical] evidence of the Son of God being “the Son is God,” God, not a chance.  With all the [Biblical] evidence saying differently, why even it give it a second thought.

God bless.

In His Care…Jim
